Byron York Says Obama Isn't Really As Popular As He Appears; It's Just Because Blacks Like Him
From our friends over at Crooks and Liars:

This is a must read. How the FUCK can they be that openly racist and not seem to notice it themselves?

1. Some commentator back in 2000 said something like that about Gore.
In their attempts to explain why Bush's loss to Gore really didn't affect who became president, some major analyst (I think I know who, but I don't want to smear him in case I'm wrong) pointed out that Al Gore got 90% of the black vote, but if you ignored that, Bush won easily.

I know why they don't notice it themselves. It's such a fundamental part of their assumptions they just think it's reality, rather than a warped view. You see that over and over, in the news, in corporations, in police profiling practices, with prosecutors, and on and on. White rules matter. White people matter. White opinion is right. Whites are the standard, African Americans the aberation. It was exactly the same mentality that allowed 10% of the population in South Africa to argue that Apartheid was really in the best interests of the 90% who were shut out from power.

Individuals always assume they are right, and when the individuals form a majority population, the majority thinks it's right. An individual can usually realize that they have to fight their own ego, but collectively societies rarely seem able to do that.

2. That is EXACTLY it!
"If you ignore the black vote, then the equation is reversed." I've got news for you right-wing racist fuckers - THIS IS AMERICA! Everyone is equal! Read the Constitution - wait - that involves reading - never mind.

That's okay, the idiots at FOX can tell you what it says. :hurts:

3. But it's HARD to read! It's like Shakespeare or the Bible or something.
Why didn't the Founders write it in English instead?

5. And when Obama gets 62% of the vote in 2012
they'll say that Palin would have won if you took out the black, hispanic, asian & gay votes...
