5. We are thinking of George (Romero)
He seems very cozy, and has snooped around the house a few times. I think I will let him back out if he wants to go, though. Until he's neutered, I won't make him stay in here. I want to introduce him to our other cat a little at a time.

Oh, noes! He found a catnip toy!

13. LOL! Not quite yet!
We're doing this incrementally. We had him in the house for the first time tonight, for about 45 minutes. Tomorrow we'll do a longer stretch or two, and several over the weekend. Then Monday or Tuesday we'll see about getting him to the vet.

Funny how he made himself right at home so quickly, though...

15. It was easier than I thought it would be
After sniffing around, helping himself to some catnip, and leaving a surprise in the litter box, he made his way back to the foyer and marched right out the door when we opened it for him.

He hung around on the porch for a little while, but now he's disappeared again to do whatever it is he does while not manipulating my wife into bringing him into our home.

We're in the middle of round 2 right now. We introduced the parasite to our existing cat, and so far it hasn't gone especially well. Lots of growling and posturing.

Baby steps...

As long as they aren't physically fighting or chasing/avoiding each other..Thats actually a good sign.

35. ...
Yes. Yes, he is.

He's outside on the porch right now, eye-balling me. We've had him in a few times today, but he gets a little jittery after an hour or so. He and the existing cat don't quite get along yet, either.

38. ah...courtship
What gives these street cats confidence is knowing that they can still get out if they go in. When I adopted Mickey this past winter, it was in and out every 15 minutes for a good long time until, presumably, I was trained. You're smart to take it gradually and let him find his confidence. But in the end neutering will help make him less threatening to the other cat and make him more comfortably domestic.

Can't wait for more pics. The camera loves George. In fact I wish we could have a documentary of The Homing.

:fistbump:
