15. Definitely Maiden
I'm sure their album "Piece Of Mind" was the inspiration for "Shark Sandwich":

Coincidence?

11. Check out "Live from 1985"
Pure Tap. And in pure Tappian form, they have songs titled "Welcome to Hell," Burn in Hell," and "7th Date of Hell." It's like another Nigel Tufnel trilogy.

12. I'd dare say that Spinal Tap are far more serious about their music than the other bands mentioned.
I'm going to see Misters Shearer, Guest and McKean next week.

35. So did I
I was most impressed by that (fully functional) 16x12 speaker cabinet Marshall custom built for Nigel/Chris. Pity the poor buggers who had to move it though.

Saw them in Mpls with a friend, and our guess was that at least 20% of the audience got little to none of the joke.

34. Unquestionably Status Quo
on whom Tap are not so loosely based. Started back in the 1960s as psychedelic pop (remember "Pictures of Matchstick Men"?) and by the seventies were the quintessential mindless metal/boogie band - think Foghat on Bonds-level steroids. Still around, boogieing away if memory serves.
