Where are Todd Bertuzzi's spin doctors?
His first response should have been, "I will not stand for these partisan political attacks against my character"

Then his coach should have said, "The Power Forward fights for the safety of each and every Canuck. These attacks against his sanity are unwarrented and prove that his opponenents are afraid to engage him on the ice."

Then FOX news would run a poll showing that the majority of Americans would feel safer if Todd Bertuzzi were their Left Winger.

Then Bill Kristol would say that the "charges of Bertuzzi using a gun during the game" are outrageous and show the bias of American media against cement heads.

Then Rush would fight through his Oxycontin induced fog to tell, at length, of Steve Moore's history of vicous checks, on and off the ice.

Then the Vancouiver front office would leak info "from a high ranking official" that the Avalanche are run by foreigners who outsource jobs to Finns and Russians.

and then someone would "accidentally" call Paul Kariya a fag.

Instead he apologizes and says he will take responsibility for his actions and serve whatever suspension the league hands down. Must be because he is Canadian.

1. Refreshing to see
someone actually TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for their own actions, isn't it? The current misadministration could take a lesson here.

3. I think the suspension is the least of his worries.
I think the possible crimial charges against him were more worrisome. Still, it's nice to see someone take responsibility, for a change.

4. McSorley used a "weapon"
and got 18 mos suspended.

Bertuzzi is a stand up guy. This was out of character for him.

The Stanley Cup is REALLY important to Canadians. Im not sure anything is that important to Americans...well, maybe TV.

5. It's admirable that he apologized, but
he broke the guy's neck! That video was chilling -- and I'm a hockey fan! A think more than a rest-of-the-season suspension is called for. He may have said he didn't mean to cause the injury, but the replay says otherwise.
