I got my labs back today
T-cells are at 320 and viral load is detectable but not enough to get alarmed about. I don't have to go back for 6 months. The best part of this news is I don't have to switch medicines! I am running out of alternate meds to take so I just need to hang in there until other meds come down the line in a year or so from now.

1. My dear Roon!
What great news!

I know you're relieved...

The T-cell number: is that good? I am ignorant of those values.

2. Normall T-cell count is anywhere between 1,000 and 1,500
hiv tricks your T-helper cells into being an hiv factory and makes more hiv cells. You can live about two years on zero T-cells..My ex did.but he was so sick all the time..

5. Yes, , my Tcells are up at least 100 from last year
My roommate finally moved out and got a place of his own. I am so glad that he chose that instead of going back to sleeping under bridges again.

11. thanks Deep
I found out I was poz christmas eve in 1990. What was scary was all the old timers were dropping dead everywhere. Of course they had it for a long time with no treatment because no one knew the virus existed. They have a grip on it now.The meds work so well on big problem with PWAs is obesity.

17. Plus the treatments back then were worse than the disease
I worked in a VA drug treatment clinic in the 80s. They would take AZT and be dead within a year. The ones who avoided treatment, if they also stayed away from street drugs, lived far longer.

So glad that the treatments have improved so much, and that you're doing better.

18. Thanks Late
I started off on AZT..you had to take it so often that you had to set an alarm to wake you up to take it at night while you are sleeping. Rough regiment, that's for sure.

20. Thanks Venus
I am fortunate enough to be on meds that I only have to take once a day..I wake up, start coffee, feed the kitties and then start counting out my dose. Then I take my pills with my first cup of coffee..every morning. I do have to take my physce meds at night, but those help me sleep, so I don't miss that dose even if I tried.
