Kingdom Hospital: What do you think of the show?
I watched it for the first time last night. I missed the premiere last week.

I found it odd. I'm not sure if it's good or bad odd yet.

What's your opinion?

Oh, and what's with the man-eating anteater?

1. Very weird!
Also undecided; don't know about the anteater.   Do you know that Kingdom Hospital is on the sight of a 19th textile mill that burned down, killing many of the workers, including children?   That's why it's haunted.

2. I kinda liked it
I kinda liked it. Seems until up until about 10 years ago, the majority of stuff based on King brought to the screen (big or small) was fundamentally crap (always an exception or two). The Stand appeared to have broken that wide open... as I understand it, King re-bought the rights to crteative control over his books and how they translated to film.

As for Kingdom Hospital, I think it's been kinda quirky so far. Kind of like a cross between Chicago Hope and Twin Peaks. I like some of the casting. The spookiness factor hasn't hit real hard and the writer's seem to have a grasp on making interesting characters.

I'm gonna keep watching it for the here and now.

Was it just me, or was there an inordinant amount of commercials on it? (This coming from a guy who doesn't watch too much prime time commercial TV)

4. It is based on "The Kingdom"
directed by Lars von Trier which came out in the mid 90's. The series was Danish with subtitles. I loved it. There is also a Kingdom 2 which I haven't seen yet.

I saw the premier of King's version but haven't seen this week's episode yet. I like it so far.

I don't think it will get as weird as the original though.

5. I believe, quite frankly, it sucks monkey chow
It moves at the speed of rot, it's so dark you can't see half of the stuff that's going on, and not one of the characters is even the slightest bit appealing or sympathetic in any way. But I know that a lot of people on this board are Stephen King fans, so if they want to support this shyte, it's okay with me. Different strokes for different folks, and all that.
