If you're sober a year or less, you have no ability to think on your own, so STFU and LISTEN instead of trying to control people, places and things.

OK, that said, you're a howling success if you didn't drink today and that is all you need to know.

eom

God, grant me the serenity....

2. I hope you can get through the day with some peace.

And may that other person find a way to calm down and do the same. It sounds like he/she needs it. :(

4. It's like any other recovering anything....
Whether it's recovery from alcohol, cocaine, prescription drugs, marijuana, bad relationahips, etc., they have to tell you how to live to make themselves feel better. They also feel like they're the only people ever to recover. It's normal and it takes alot of patience to deal with it. They'll get over it. You'll have to get over it, too. Y'know what I mean? If you can stand it, you have a good shot at still being friends when they snap out of it.

16. The thing is, I rat myself out daily.
But it's fun watching people run around thinking they got something on me. I try not to let 'em run too far with it. That'd be just another form of keeping secrets.

For reals, that's been just about the best thing that's happened to me since I've been in the rooms. I've gained the ability to resist keeping secrets, and it's wonderful.

17. Yep!
Gonna quote an old meeting cliche here,

"Take the cotton balls out of your ears
and put them in your mouth"

Mr. Know-it-All newbie needs to hear that one.

Hang in there, Gray.

22. Hee...
I can always tell when someone is new.

When they share, they speak in the 2nd person, as in "You need to..."

I hugged a guy the other day and told him to mind his pronouns...

:hi:
