Can you name a movie (Spooky one) where this is the plot?

I am trying to remember the name of a movie to recommend to a friend. I have no idea when it was made, who is in it, or much of anything else than this: There is this spooky island. The mainlanders won't have anything to do with the islanders but won't say why. The hero goes there and is clearly not welcome by the resident islanders. The islanders turn out to be some sort of zombies. A bunch of spooky stuff happens, I think there is a pretty lady involved, I don't remember if the hero escapes or not. Oh, and its always dark in the scenes.

Do you know the name of a movie like that?
