I just went outside with the dogs, took one whiff, and just about fell on my face.

2. Nope. It's all Delaware.
More specifically, Sun Oil refinery - located in New Castle, DE - is ablaze.

Seriously - it's BAD. The dogs even wanted to come back inside.

3. A fire?
Is everyone safe?

Well, technically, when something is ablaze nobody is really "safe" until said ablaze is no long the condition, but you get my idea.

5. It started just a little while ago.
I don't think they know anything yet - but I can see the brightness in the sky from here, and I live 20 minutes from the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

10. Jersey gets blamed for every fucking thing....
when in reality, it's DE, PA and NY that create all the shit.

Whatever. We own Ellis Island and Lady Liberty. The rest of them can suck THAT.

But, I'm blaming Fred. He always was a stinker!

Explosions rock northern Delaware

MARCUS HOOK, Pa., May 17 (UPI) -- A series of loud explosions rocked an area near a Sun Oil ethylene facility in far northern Delaware Sunday night, witnesses said.

CBS3.com reported neighbors in the Marcus Hook, Pa., heard the explosions and saw smoke in the sky.

The refinery is on the Pennsylvania-Delaware border, CBS3.com said, so fire crews both states responded.

The report said there was no immediate word on what caused the explosions.

13. Well, I didn't hear any explosions....
I took the dogs out for their last "do business" run, and being that my doofus Golden Retriever is afraid of the dark, I went out there with them. Oh, God.

Now I have a pounding headache and my sinuses and eyes hurt. And I was only out there for about 30 seconds.

20. Effects of Ethylene on humans:

Sounds like a high concentration by their list.

However, has this yet occurred?

"Belligerence, certainty of truth"

:P

Stay safe, and stay informed about outdoor conditions. I know the local media rarely seem to understand chemistry (even here in Houston, they are woefully ignorant of what's dangerous and what isn't) so use whatever sources you can find for air conditions.
