9. Okay, thanks. Guess I should have paid more attention
to the dates. LMF was July '67, right?

4. Hey Jude
was a significantly better McCartney song than Penny Lane, if you are interested in Paul's songs.

6. If you know that much about "Hey Jude," then you also should know...
...that it didn't go to #1 until the late summer of 1968! :eyes:

7. The post says of the late 1960s
I 'spect that 1968 is by all definitions part of the late 60s.

13. Didja happen to notice the words in parentheses?
They say, "Part 1." I still have about 30 more songs, or an additional three polls, to conduct before we come to the decade's end.

That's why I wish these polls offered more than just 10 options!

10. These "Ruby Tuesday" voters need to report to my Stones poll
Edited on Thu Mar-11-04 08:12 PM by undisclosedlocation
How odd that it should receive 3 out of 17 votes here against very stiff competition vs 0 out of 41 (against also very stiff competition of course) there.

I can't vote in your polls, Train, there's no "All of the Above" option! :)

16. This is a pretty weak group. Good Vibrations....
Over Ruby Tuesday and Penny Lane which were second tier songs by great bands. The Monkees should never be considered for anything. I was going to pick 96 Tears because of the hilarious scene in "Quitter's Inc." from the Steven King movie "Cat's Eye" but decided against it.

...but I included his #1 hit anyway, figuring Donovan might just have some fans at DU. Looks like I was right!

25. I do like Donovan's take on Marianne Faithfull's "Universal Soldier."
But as for the rest of his music, at this late date, I can pretty well do without it. That's just me, though.
