I have 3 credit cards.

I only use one credit card and the balance is really low.

All 3 credit cards have had the credit balance lowered.

I have excellent credit, never late.

I will just go to a prepayed debit card.

3. Call and complain.
Reduced available credit will hurt your credit.

4. I will be calling.
Credit card companies are hurting themselves.

I have no house note, car note, so I charge a little every month to have a credit history.

Everybody's credit history will get hurt.

5. I had one that I hadn't used in years and it had a zero balance.
I pretty much forgot I even had it. A few months ago I paid off the credit card I do use because they were raising my interest rate for no reason (I always paid on time). As to the one I wasn't using, I got a letter informing me that they were raising the interest rate to an amount of a *minimum* of 18.99% (it had been about 8%) unless I notified them in writing that I wanted to close the account. The letter explained that this had nothing to do with my individual credit or payment history, but was simply a decision based on the needs of the business, or something to that effect.

While I realize that canceling an unused credit card can take a few points off your credit score, I decided to hell with them, and I wrote a "Fuck You, Strong Letter To Follow" letter, a flaming nastygram informing them that yes, I wanted the account canceled: I considered them to be a bunch of thieves, grifters and usurers; and that I was quite certain this move was simply a last-ditch effort to extort money out of their best customers before the government slammed the door hard on their sleazy asses.

A few weeks later I got a form letter acknowledging the account was closed, thanking me for being a good customer and expressing the wish that I would do business with them in the future...

6. The one credit card I do use had the interest raised, I called and ask why.
I go it lowered again.

I wasn't late, ever.

They are trying to screw our credit history so bad that the banks can refuse to loan to us.

That is what I think.

I know of to many people who have received these letters, people with good credit.
