Okay, electronics whizzes, tell me what I did wrong.

TM sang the National Anthem at our neighborhood Memorial Day Party. ($100 - which, judging by the economy and how hard she's looking for a job, could be the only money she earns all summer, but I digress)

Anyway. I went to BestBuy this morning to buy blank digital tapes and I also picked up a SD card for my camcorder, which is a Panasonic PVGS300, pretty straightforward camera, because I don't usually remember to bring my glasses.

So, I put the card in, and when she started I pressed record.

Apparently, nothing happened? :shrug: When I went to card playback, the screen said 'No data'.

I've read and re-read the manual and I can't figure out where I went wrong.

Anybody have any thoughts? I would hate for this to happen when it's something really important.

And you have to use tape to record movies.

Could it be the card? Or are they the all the same? The guy at BB seemed to know what he was doing? :shrug:

The SD card is for still pictures only. I have no idea if yours works the same way.

You have to use a tape. The card only works for still photo shots, not video.
See manual.

THe manual indicates using an SD card for pics, but doesn't expressly state you can't use it for video.

If it does, I missed it.
