2. I voted four,
but I'm not counting the one that belongs to my brother who lives in the basement, nor the two that don't work. We have four working computers in the household, one for each human (again, not counting bother in the basement who has his own) who lives here.

12. Currrently...2
One for each system.

Used to be 3, but the third one died, and out to the trash it went.

I'm surprised the second one is still working. It's pretty old.

13. Since I run a computer repair service from my home
it varies, but at the moment there are seven. Not counting the junk ones riding in the back of my pickup truck. Counting those would make it eleven.....

19. In my area it's a big no-no to just throw away, but...
I was venturing up on some BLM land scouting out old mercury mines when I stumbled across the unofficial but legal shooting range - dishwashers, refrigerators, water heaters, washing machines, cars, you name it - all shot up. What really caught my eye were fifty computer moniters all stacked up waiting for destruction . I checked them out, all were ingraved with UC Davis id's. Damn, I left my rifle at home.

22. Three --
Mine, his and the laptop. Just took an old one that didn't work right (something about the horizontal hold went wonky) to the recycling center a few weeks ago. We actually have four computers, though -- his monitor is switched between a Linux tower and his Windows machine, mine is single-tasking my Windows box, and we have the PowerBook.

Hubby's a software engineer -- but I'm a bit of a computer geek, too, and get a charge out of having access to several operating systems. Even if I do work for the Luddites right now, and have no pressing need to learn to work other operating systems. It might come up someday, and then I'd be ready.

23. Three
This one I'm using, the one that just went bad, and the one that went bad before that. I'd like to get rid of them, but I don't know where to take them.

24. Three
One currently in use on the hhhhhot new system, one sitting over there under the card table beside the two partial systems, and one in the closet. I also own something like six keyboards, and about 2.5 computers, only one of which currently works. Hardware is *not* my thing; I just sliced open my thumb yesterday while disassembling a CD-ROM drive to get the disc my clueless (yet hardware-savvy) fiance left in there when he took my older system down to upgrade to this one. Whether or not I can ever get that drive working again is up for some debate -- I'm excellent at taking things apart. Getting them to go back together the right way, though...
