itunes question
Before purchasing, how can I tell what the sampled compression rate is?

And is there DRM (e.g. can I make a CD to use in my car?)

1. Not sure about your first question. But the answer to your second is yes.

I've burned many a cd using itunes and played them in my car cd player. I have also burned music to cd, given those cds to my friends who can then place those files on their computer. Edit - this is music that I ripped from purchased cds, not purchased through itunes store.
