1. Hmm... I think I'd have to say Nickleback.

Unfortunately the site that hosted it seems to be down, but I had a link to a flash thing that played two Nickelback songs at once... and they were the SAME SONG. They were so lame that they ripped off themselves. And had the audacity to present 'both' those songs as singles.

2. I've never even heard of Shinedown, but Nickelback are basically a crime against humanity.

3. Nickelback is the biggest joke in music since Axl Rose got drunk and fired his whole band.

4. Shinedown, easily
I mean, Nickleback is an affront to all things decent... but when it comes to shameless over-singing, that douchebag from Shinedown makes Maria Carey and Celine Dionne seem like the queens of tasteful restraint.

5. Neither sucks.
They are just more popular than their talent justifies. If they had never had a hit and you stumbled across them in a club somewhere, you'd think "Hey, they're pretty good for an unknown band." It's only their success people hate. And to me, hating a band because they are successful is exactly the same as liking a band because they are successful--it's letting someone else's opinion dictate theirs.

Not saying either is a favorite of mine, but I'd listen to a new Nickelback song over 99% of the stuff on classic rock stations any day. Just tired of the past and the worship of it.

6. At least Nickleback isn't trying to be something they're not...

7. Taste is subjective.
You don't like them,others do.
