$93 for a used math book?
Gah.

I bought my textbook for my online math course that starts on Monday.

Suck me dry why don't they?

That's a week of part-time retail right there. *sigh*

I have a house closing in a month. Don't ask me how I'm going to pay for that!

How much do you think I can get for hooking?

I'll keep that in mind. Though now that I'm looking at it, I may need it.

"Math for Business and Personal Finance Decisions"

I need to learn about all this shit for more than just college credits.

8. that is a cheap one
my kid's biology book was 150.00 used, but it could be used both semsesters, usually around 500.00 a semester for books. And when it's time to sell those books back, so far she only gets maybe 10% back, it's a ripoff.

11. I'm an art major
This is the first textbook I've had to buy. It was a bit of a shock. I guess I wasn't too worried about pricing way back in the days that mommy and daddy paid for my books. Heh.

keep an eye out on Craigslist and Half.com. I knew someone who got a $120 textbook for $20 on half.com. Instructor's edition too. :D

23. textbooks are a racket
i'd pay $20 for a used paperback and only get $2 or $3 bucks back, so i wound up keeping a lot of books.

that's one of the few things i don't miss about college

Sorry to hear about it - I'm glad I did college in the 80s, when textbooks were only $50 a shot.

47. A People's History of the United States
was the cheapest textbook i bought. MY history professor said, it was the best textbook out there and the campus bookstore, was a rip of. He ordered extra copies, at book at a local independent bookstore and I paid $3.00 for a used copy.

See if the book is piratable before you let these people gouge you dry. Given how much more we pay than Europeans and Asians, the publishers deserve it.
