1. I need to make sauce again soon...maybe on Sunday
I'll already be hungover (grad party Saturday night), and it's usually a good hangover cure. Have to focus and all that. :P

3. a lot of stuff
10 (good sized) crimini mushrooms, sliced
one green pepper, chopped
1/2 yellow pepper, chopped
5 cloves of garlic
4 tbs. parsley
2 tbs. basil
2 tbs. oregano
one large onion, chopped
salt
pepper
1/2 cup red wine (I drink the rest of the bottle)
2 big cans petite diced tomatoes
2 big cans crushed tomatoes
1 tbs. sugar


I sautee all those veggies in a healthy dose of olive oil


and when I make the meatballs, the leftover fat in the pan goes in the sauce



It's not a classic marinara sauce, and it doesn't get really thick (but that's what garlic bread is for, no?)

You know.... we still need to get together.....

18. Nice recipe
I prefer ground, browned meat over meatball but could live with either. Try throwing in about two table spoons of white worcestershire sauce (or regular if you don't have white) and a table spoon of Cholula hot sauce and then you'll really be cooking.


oh... and toss a few shots of tequila into yourself to turn it into a party :D

20. tequila is my potent potable of choice
but only if it's good tequila... Cuervo sucks

I'm a little miffed right now because I have a pot of sauce the size of New Jersey and I'm the only person home.

22. Well... thats really the best way to do it
It allows you to stand there and dip and eat all the garlic bread you want, plus sauce is always best after sitting in the fridge for a day or two. I always make mine a few days in advance of having people over to eat it.

23. I'm going to freeze some for another meal
I even made a double batch of meatballs


(I forgot to thaw the sweet Italian sausage, but that will work for the next meal too)

you use the rest of the wine to get sauced!!!

11. the rest of the bottle of wine that didn't go into the sauce
It's a malbec (made only in Argentina)

The brand name is punto final, and it got a rating of 90 (out of 100)... it's pretty good
