Oh, barf (I have to read a GHWB book!)
OK, so there's this great big industry convention every year, and they get a prominent keynote speaker. They do run the gamut -- they've had everyone from Margaret Thatcher (before I started in the industry) to George Stephanopolous to Matalin AND Carville (that was a riot).

This year it's Papa Shrub. (It's also two weeks after we boot his son out of office, which should be interesting.)

AND I get to read one of his books and review it for an upcoming issue as a tie-in (we sponsor parts of the convention, so it's in our best interest to get as many people interested as possible).

And, no, I don't get to delegate this one to the assistant editor.

:puke:

Anyone have a recommendation? Which book will make me want to puke the least? He's got quite a few.

1. Read the one that makes you puke the MOST
and give it a scathing review.

2. My father has had to attend conferences with keynote speakers like...
Dick Cheney and Oliver North. He has a sign copy of the latter's book, which he gave to me, because he knows how much I despise Ollie North. So don't feel too bad.

As for books by H.W., none of them appears to be under 500 pages. Here's one:

4. Thanks.
Length isn't so much a problem for me -- I'm a quick reader, and I have a flight coming up (MKE - DEN - LAS).

3. How about "A World Restored"
The one where he talks about what an idiotic idea it would have been to take Baghdad and be stuck occupying Iraq.

5. Hm....
Yes, that would be beautiful.
Problem is, I have to look for the business-and-life-lessons type stuff (AKA, why would the people who read my magazine be interested in this book?).
