Okay, one last thing before I leave

Does anyone here remember a Brit band from the 80s called the Collectors? Apparently they had a Smiths/REM sound. The reason I ask is that my dad emailed me saying a Briton he works with at Shell, a Mr. Ian Williams, was the lead singer of said band and still makes about $10,000 a year in royalties from radio airplay.

I cannot locate any info about the band. Anyone heard of them?
