I went and told him not to do that,if he wants me to get the little weeds that grow in the cracks I'll use a hoe.

3. Guess he was trying to be helpful,
but I'd be pissed too.

Maybe it would be an opportunity to educate him about what poison that stuff is and what it does to bees and butterflies and birds.

Or not.B-)

14. That would be pretty comical
Since chances are he was using glyphosate. I would get a pretty good chuckle if someone tried to tell me spraying glyphosate on sidewalk grass kills bees, butterflies, and birds.

6. Wow, not only does he not obey boundaries, he poisons the environment.
I just want to tell you that white vinegar squirted onto weeds in cracks, kills them safely and makes them much easier to pull out. If you try it, it is most effective when done on a sunny day.

10. Really, when you think about it.
Vinegar is good for so many things, from cleaning windows to rinsing hair, and it is very inexpensive.

15. Vinegar is not particularly effective
It will kill certain grasses and weeds, but quite often it doesn't kill the roots and on some plants it doesn't work at all. Stronger vinegar concentrations can be found at some garden nurseries, and they are more effective, however they are expensive and can be much more hazardous than the alternatives.

Glyphosate is cheaper, more effective, and safe.

20. I found it works very well, but you have to use it on a sunny day.
After I used it, the grass and weeds turned brown and came out very easily.

22. If you are pulling the roots out, then yes it can be very effective
In my case I have a large amount of grass and weeds to control, so I use glyphosate. It kills the plant and there's no pulling roots. I don't have to worry about which weeds and grass it's effective on because it's effective in almost all cases. It's at least as cheap as vinegar and much easier to store when purchased in bulk because it's available as a concentrate.

I do use a lot of vinegar around the house. It discourages ants, is a great sterilizer in the kitchen, it's good for light soap and scale, and it works well as a deodorizer.

So does plain boiling water.

21. I can let ya take some cuttings from my triffids to put in his driveway.
Not only are they thorny and caustic to your skin, but they slap you when you walk past them too. They are murderous and sadistic. He'll be in the hospital clinging to life after fighting them for one summer. The best revenge would be to make him face my triffids.

28. Some people are paranoid about how the neightborhood looks.
And looking "good" means an entirely artificial landscape. Or neighbor actually called the police on us because we had native "weeds" in the yard. The city sent a commercial lawn mower over. When I said I would not consent to his presence three fucking police cars and four cops came over. And these assholes had the nerve to request and get a local tax hike to fund their department.
