I'm really worried about somebody I care about...
I'm not sure what to do.
She hasn't been answering her cell phone or answering texts. It's been several days.
I didn't think anything of it over the weekend, cause I was in Brooklyn, very busy, wasn't really in touch with anybody anyway...
but now that I think of it, I'm starting to worry.
I don't normally go without hearing from her for more than a day.
Is it too early for me to worry? Am I overreacting?
I'm a worrying person by nature, I guess. :(

1. go over there and knock on the door. Make the 'error' of commission
rather than one of omission.

Do it.

3. Going over and knocking on the door would be hard...
as she lives several states away. Should've mentioned that, sorry. :P

15. call her local law enforcement, ask for a welfare check
they will send a unit to make sure the person is still here and pass a message on for you.

6. No, unfortunately. These are eventualities that I wish I had in place...
prior to this. :(
Something bad could happen to her and I'd have no way of knowing.

7. I'm sorry you are worried...
This is a difficult situation...I wish I knew what kind of advice to give you.

There is most likely a harmless reason why she is not answering, but I understand the worry.

You could always call the authorities, but that has its risks...you don't want to anger your friend.

I think I would wait for awhile before worrying too much.

10. I'd go to her apartment. Knock on her door at an hour when you know she will be home. Maybe early
morning. Then get her super to help (if she lives in a building). But call her and leave a message about what you are going to do just in case she is screaning her calls.

11. Have you left messages when you've called?
To not get called back is a little weird if there's no other communication.

I'd maybe call and leave one more message voicing my concerns and the reason why and asking to please call me back so that I'm not worrying.

Keep in mind, that if the cell is the only form of communication, it could be an equipment problem.

13. We do welfare checks
for this sort of thing all the time. If you are afraid to go over there or cant for some reason, call the police and ask them to do a welfare check on her. They cant force entry or anything like that but at least they can get ahold of her if her phone is out of commission or something like that.
