Movies remade by Americans, your faves?
Edited on Mon Jun-01-09 09:28 PM by MikeNearMcChord
I just rented a Chinese Movie, Infernal Affairs.(a very good movie) It would be remade in America as The Departed. I wonder what original movie made overseas, that would be remade in America, that is your favorite. I loved La Femme Nikita, but the American remake was bad. But give me your picks.

3. Kurosawa ?

Not 100% sure.

And I believe that A Fistful of Dollars was based on an Akira Kurosawa movie

as well.

4. Yes, Kurosawa
I think the Fistful of Dollars trilogy is a 100% Leone original. There was another western remake of Yojimbo, though. forgot which film it was.

5. I found this about A Fistful of Dollars:
"Although the film was advertised in trailers as "the first film of its kind", the plot and to an extent the cinematography was based almost entirely on Akira Kurosawa's film Yojimbo "

If you find anything else about this please feel free to tell me.Sergio Leone was

a brilliant director. What's your favorite Leone movie ?
