I have no one to play tennis with
and I sure wish I did.

I'd probably better invest in a kayak.... something physical I enjoy doing and can do all by myself (um.... don't get crazy replying to that phrase....)

1. Walls can be good partners.
No sex partners, of course, but decent enough for tennis.

2. Grrr...I'm in the same boat
My friends are either much better or much worse than me.

I used to play in a tennis group, and if they weren't so desperate for players, they would have dumped me. It used to be really funny to listen to them try to hide that they were bargaining over who had to play with me -- they were so polite they didn't want to hurt my feelings. So they just sort of rotated like it was Canadian doubles, and whoever had me was the person playing alone! (I've got a killer net shot and an okay serve, but I run like an elephant, and anyone who can place a shot can put it out of my reach)

My other friends who "play" can't do anything - can't even get a serve in.

I second the suggestion of a wall....

(plus kayaking is way more fun with a friend to chat with as you drift down the water)

3. there's a wall down at the courts, but I'd like to practice my serve
and have someone hit it back

I'm on leave from work and promised myself I'd do something physical every day, but I'm getting a little sick of jogging

4. Sorry you're in MA, or I'd invite you to join me on the local courts
Our public courts suck, but one of the local colleges have courts that are rarely used after 5 pm during the summer. Free is a great price. Let me know if you want to drive to Philly

But I'm probably way worse than you.....like I said: I run like an elephant

6. My son has found tennis partners through Craigslist
You can rate your skill level and contact or be contacted by people in the same general range.
