My dear sweet puppy Max is gone.

He was 13. We got him from a shelter when my youngest was 7 years old. He had parvo, and we had to hospitalize him for two weeks. I visited him everyday. (I had memorized the spots on his tummy so no one could pull a switcheroo). When he got better, we brought him home. A sweeter natured dog you can not imagine. He was funny for a mostly-lab. He didn't like to get his feet wet, and would tiptoe around puddles when he let him into the backyard. And have you ever known a lab to be a finicky eater?. . well Max was.

But when he got all playful, he would hop & dance around the house and make us laugh. He was my constant companion as the guys went to school & work. He helped me fold the clothes and put away groceries, and he watched gently as we went through all the things that families have to go through.

I will miss him mightily.

Truly pets become a friend in a way that no human can ever be. It gets to me when someone morns their pet and someone says "It was just a dog or cat." JUST?

Your baby looks beautiful and I'm so very sorry that he is gone. I'm certain that the wonderful memories and happiness he brought you and your loved ones will live on forever.

I lost my beautiful girl puppy on April 7th so I can fully empathize with the grief that you must be enduring.

Take good care ... for me, the thoughtful passage of time doesn't fully heal but it does help buffer the pain. :hug:
