The Red Sox are a better team. Their pitching is better. They're much deeper in that department. But it should be a good race. Tampa Bay and Toronto are not bad either.

29. It's a long season still.
Our bullpen is pretty epic, that's true, but we're not producing like we should be.

I can't understand the Rays. They should be doing so much better than they are. I'd chalk it up to being so young, but after last year, you can't use that excuse.

I actually don't have a TV, i was just messin' because of the TV-inspired flamewar. O8)

I've been good though! I am going to be buried in grading for the next week or so, but then the quarter will be over and i can relax! My new position doesn't start until mid-August, so i have a little hiatus although i'll still be working on some projects. :)

How are things with you?

34. sounds like you've been busy
things are things here. still looking for work, but i had an interview last week and should hear back from them this week. i'm trying to steadily chip away at wedding stuff and not let myself get sucked into thinking that i still have plenty of time (i'm a classic procrastinator). plus, i'm still trying to find a new place to live, so it feels like so much of my life is up in the air right now.

that said, i'm still feeling pretty good

36. When is the wedding?

I know what you mean about feeling up in the air -- but it sounds like it's all GOOD! Wedding planning is a huge drag, but it'll all be worth it. At our wedding i just kept looking around and thinking "WOW, everyone i love is here! In one place!" Be sure to step back every so often and enjoy it. :)

Good luck on the job interview!

67. I've kind of taken a liking to the new courtroom drama Raising The Bar
It can be a little melodramatic and it doesn't really represent the way things usually go in criminal cases. But what I like is the fact that there's a well-acted, well-produced courtroom drama show that gives us the point of view of the criminal defense and portrays them as the good guys. In the 60s, there were shows like The Defenders and Perry Mason that showed the defender and the accused in a favorable light. Since then, there have been a lot of cop and prosecutor shows that give us the law and order point of view and paint criminal defense lawyers as a bunch of sleezeball whores (which they sometimes are). I like the presentation of the characters in Raising The Bar as hard-working, low-paid criminal defense lawyers on a mission for justice, something we haven't seen very much on television in recent times. For that reason, I find it refreshing.

I liked Kyle XY but it was never shown on Australian TV (and has been pulled in the US)

The Simpsons is still one of my favorites -particularly the earlier episodes

"My Family", the UK comedy, is still one of my favorites but it is only shown sporadically here

Question Time in the House of Representatives is another of my favorite

President Obama is also worth watching, when he's on

I rely on cable TV for my real viewing pleasure. There I watch sometimes many shows in syndication including
The West Wing
Hart to Hart
The Wonder Years
Seinfeld
Amazing Stories

Actually, an old kiffeya, that's too worn to be a warm bicycle scarf.

When I pull the telly out of the corner and plug it in, it's to watch a DVD. I'm watching Robin Hood Season 2 now. I like except for the casting of Marion. Maybe I should pull off the dust cloth to see if it's better.:P
