Gardening ethics questions (2)
So I put up "deer fencing" around our garden yesterday*

We have three full grown (thanks to us I think) rabbits about

So IF I find a rabbit that is able to somehow get over/under the fencing (at about 4 feet) Do I let it out or do we have stew?

Question 2 (this one is tougher)

IF I find a rabbit hung up in the netting (like I did a chipmunk a month ago) do I try to knock it out and then release it (could include cutting the fencing) OR do I get the Fiskar axe and..... we have stew?

* we have two gardens- one is 17X20 feet and Josie's is 5X6

2. I can only answer for me and I love all critters.
Iguanas run wild here and eat my canteloupe vine, my bouganvillea, hibiscus, frangipani.

I am taking the tack of feeding them with food that I know they like and so far that is working. I will never kill a critter. Here is one of my marauders:

6. I've never heard anybody call plumeria -frangipani.
I think that's what it's called in southeast Asia. Those are esacpees?

3. Make every attempt to release in both cases.
Now if a neighbor CHILD was to get into the garden, it's time for stew.

7. Well hell
Why didn't I know about this rule when the nextdoor rugrats poisoned my tomato plants with Skin-So-Soft last year? Day-um. Can I still claim 'em? I know where they live.

10. Do you know how to convert a rabbit into a stew? If so, it seems ony fair that
if it eats your food you should get to eat it...

However, I suppose you might check with your state DFG to see if 'garden fencing' is a legal method of taking small game.

11. You should have planted enough for everybody.
Well I tried that and the varmints kept eating my share too. So I put up an electric fence. Critters don't try to squeeze through and don't get hung up. And it's funny if I can trick a buddy into touching it.
