1. I love it when men (or women) shave them straight down at the sides...
Not really; the chin has curves; sculpt and round the edges or otherwise it looks very cheesy indeed! :wow:

5. Well, at least nobody can accuse me of being sexist...
The one time I said "mankind", where anyone with a brain could have figured out in 0.002 seconds I was meaning "humankind", some twit responded calling me sexist and the usual trollish gibber.

7. I'm thinking people are chicken to vote on this.
I'm not sure why. 40 views, and only 10 votes...

Do people have goatees and love them? Then vote for the first choice!

Do people know someone with a goatee, don't like it, and feel like they would betray them by voting it down?

It's less trouble to maintain than a full beard, and more snazzy than a mustache. Some people can't bring it off, but I will not let them deter me.

16. I'd love to grow one. It's just that "in between" period that is so hard, where you
look like an unshaven bum, that keep me terminating the process.

I would love one. It just takes me too long to grow one.

17. Cheesy and annoying and PUHLEEZE just shave completely.
Beards should be employed as cover for weak chins. ONLY. If you've got a nice manly jaw, please let us see it.
I love to see FACES! ALL parts and neighborhoods. I happen to harbor a personal affection for big mustaches, but that's probably just my age talking. (Hippies and all that...)

Every time I see a face that has intricately designed fur on it, other than mustaches, my first reaction is...
"My goodness he's trying so hard!!!!"
I have forgotten the name for those little below the lip tufts...but those I dislike most of all.
There. I have exposed my prejudices. Not that what I think matters a bit....

24. I just think it's a fashion whose time has come and long since gone.
I mean, they were cool back when Hootie was playing with his Blowfish back in, what, 1995?

We're way past that now.

If you're going to have facial hair--which I admit, I don't care too much for--then grow a full beard. But don't half-ass it.

Everyone has different personal tastes. I've shared mine. The poll is designed for others to share theirs.

32. Not really. They are for people who decided to grow a goatee.

I look better with a full beard. Some other guys look better with a goatee. I guess it depends on the shape of a guy's face and the hair that frames their face.

If a goatee looks better than a full beard on someone, or even if they just think so, then that's okay. :)

35. I didn't even have to shave regularly until I was 30
The notion of me growing a full beard is ridiculous. But, on the other hand, the older I get, the smaller my chin gets. That's just not acceptable.

22. Nobody liked DiCaprio's goatees in "The Departed" or "Blood Diamond" or "Body of Lies"?
Edited on Sat Jun-06-09 07:29 PM by Mike 03
A lot of critics made jokes about them, but to be honest, I thought it was cool.

Maybe I'm just lame, which would not surprise me one bit, but I thought it might be cool to make some kind of change, grow a goatee...

Eh, whatever.

33. A goatee is such a basic thing, it comes in and out of style
on a cycle I guess. After a few thousand years I guess you can consider it a fashion staple. It's around to stay. Guys definitely aren't EVER going to stop growing them just because a relative few people decide they don't like them and make judgmental comments.

Every one of us could be criticized in return if we want be snarky.
