Poll question: QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO VOTE IN MY MUSIC POLLS
OK, so I've pretty well covered the best and worst #1 hits of the '60s, '70s, and '80s. For my next series of surveys, I'm thinking of moving down a notch on the Billboard Hot 100 and asking y'all to vote for the best and worst Number 2 hits of decades past.

You wouldn't believe how many classic tunes peaked "only" at the runner-up spot! Among them: "The Great Pretender," "Bye Bye Love," "Great Balls of Fire," "Sweet Little Sixteen," "Dream Lover," "Only The Lonely," "Walk--Don't Run," "Shop Around," "Can't Help Falling In Love," "The Wanderer," "Puff The Magic Dragon," "Louie, Louie," "Do You Want To Know A Secret," "Dancing in the Street," "She's Not There," "Wooly Bully," "Like A Rolling Stone," "19th Nervous Breakdown," "Yellow Submarine," "Sweet Soul Music," "I Was Made To Love Her," "Soul Man," "Chain of Fools," "Cry Like A Baby," "Born To Be Wild," "Those Were The Days," "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me," "Proud Mary," "It's Your Thing," "Bad Moon Rising," "A Boy Named Sue," "Green River," "Spinning Wheel," and "Hot Fun in the Summertime." And that covers only the '50s and '60s!

So what do you think, gang? Is there any interest in my conducting polls about the #2 hits, or have you had enough? Inquiring minds want to know!

3. Keep it up!
The polls are lots of fun, and for those of us alive "when the music mattered" they bring back great memories.

I might even start a few threads of my own - but no polls - those are your domain!

4. Twos are usually better than ones.
Now, for excellent music, try the ones who never even made the top 40.

6. Ya gotta do it
Do You Wabt To Know A Secret is about my most-favorite Beatles tune, so it needs to show up in a poll some where.

Also, I really like your polls, as they help me to recall songs I may have not heard for years, and "forgot" I liked.

14. Yep, and we older Boomers need the memory boosts,

don't we?

Our brains are overloaded and jettisoning cargo now. Fortunately, or unfortunately, it's things like "Did I feed the dog?" and "Where did I put my glasses?" that elude us now, and are easily solved by feeding the dog (who never says, "Oh, I couldn't, I've already eaten") and always, always, always putting your glasses in the same place.
