Newborn baby panthers Larisa and Sipura!

Newborn baby panthers Larisa and Sipura stare at photographers during a media presentation of the cubs at the Tierpark zoo

Showtime: The eyes of one of the panther cubs appears to match the green of the grass around her as she stares unflinchingly at the camera

Larisa and Sipura cling to the top of a wicker basket at the zoo in Berlin. The pair, twin females, were born April 26

Even hardened news photographers have to crack a smile as one of the cubs stumbles through the grass

In the sunlight, darker black spots can be seen beneath the cubs' dark fur

5. Ogden Nash classic on Panthers..
"When you see a panther crouch,
Prepare to say OUCH.
Better yet, if called by a panther,
Don't anther."

They are sweet. Thanks!

11. Their paws are already huge!
Someday they're going to look like this:

and as amazing as that is, I think I'll stick with the fun size:

Although, actually panther attacks on humans are the rarest of attacks by cats. Cougars can attack people, tigers can attack people. But panthers don't tend to attack humans.

12. Reminds me of my kitty, Link...May he rest in peace.

I wish I had a better pic. Link had that panther-like prominent jawline, and a slightly lower forehead than the average housecat. Some folks said he was ugly; but I always thought he looked like a panther. In this pic, he's enjoying taco leftovers with his brother, Tails.
