We lost power. That was one hell of a thunderstorm
Good news, at least I have a portable charger for my iPhone.

Read the weather blog on WFAA.com & it sounds like a lot of people will be without power tonight.

Can you imagine living prior to electricity? I bet more people played musical instruments back then!

1. My son's flight into Omaha just landed.
He was supposed to get in at 8:00. It was kind of wild here for awhile!

3. Glad he made it in last night!
Sorry I didn't write back. I fell asleep well before 10 (it was so quiet!).

We heard a big jet landing at about 6:30 & my husband said, "Well THEY finally made it in." Usually, we don't hear planes that big so close to our house.

It's nice to have electricity again (my husband said it was restored around 12:30 a.m.).

Hope you have a good day... wish I didn't have to go to work! :hi:

10. that's funny, I heard a jet flying very low here on Wednesday afternoon
which is very unusual. But I don't think we had the storm until much later.

16. our power stayed on, amazingly enough. But that thing woke me up around 3 am
with some bodacious thunder.

And more rain this morning and the power went out at work twice this morning. Just our building, nothing else around us.

17. This is some crazy weather !
I've been here almost 4 years, and we've never had this much at once. We didn't lose power, just brownouts, and the sirens went off. I moved here from Kansas, and I can't seem to get away from Tornado Alley!

2. I lived for three weeks without electricity
after Hurricane Georges. It was September in the Keys, which is HOT.

That was a long, long, long three weeks. No AC, no fans, no fridge, no oven or stove (not that we wanted any extra heat!)

And some pretty good rains this morning, too...

I wanted to stay in today, and enjoy the clouds, wind, and rain from the comfort of my own home.

8. I think we got hit by part of the same storm system.
You're in the DFW area, and I'm about two hours east of you in Tyler. We had a monster storm last night too. I think we were under a tornado warning for some of it, because there hail and rotation spotted. Yeah, it was a bumpy night! Today's looking to be wet too. And I was supposed to take my nieces and nephew to the lake for some swimming and fishing! x(

11. I watched the storm in Tyler
from a window at work. Beautiful light show it put on. I used to be so terrified of storms but now I find myself enjoying them.

Books to read are nice if it's daytime. Otherwise, I light every candle I got. It keeps my mind off the weather.

14. lol, i love the line about living without electricity, you do realise that a large proportion of the
planet still does live without electricity, at least in the way you mean, no portable electric devices etc. i still prefer teh light from a tilly lamp to electric anyday.
