5. Condolences -- I know how you feel
I know how you feel. When my first car's heart finally gave out (she threw a rod), I knelt beside her, on the breakdown lane of the freeway, and literally cried.

The scary, honest truth is: I have never loved a woman as much as I loved that crappy, broken-down, mostly-baby-blue pick-up truck, and there's never been a woman who loved me as much as she did.

After high school, I lived in the back for six months, mostly following the Grateful Dead. In high school, we used to race to Taco Bell in her, and we always won, even against sports cars, because she was always willing to drive the wrong way down a one-way street. I taught a 14 year-old girl how to drive in that truck, and managed to get bullet holes in the tailgate as a reward (long story). In fact, the first time I was ever intimate with a woman was in that truck. I swore a sacred oath that I would never leave her (the truck, not the girl), and I failed her.

Sorry for the rambling.

I didn't cry when my father died. Didn't dry when my cheating wife left me for another man. Didn't cry when I got thrown in jail, beaten up, or I was left homeless.

But now, I suddenly feel the urge to cry for my lost truck.

A sweet fundie woman who I am friends with, despite our political differences. No need to find them.

12. Maybe a Viking Funeral is in order....
Build a huge wooden raft, drain all the toxic fluids out of the car, pump all the gas outta the tank and douse the raft with it, tow it out to the center of the Bay of Green Bay, light up the raft, and send Red to the deep.

Just kidding....
