you and I both know that MIM is a pretty decent guy even for all the crap we give him about the Cowboys and whatnot. I think there were a couple of clique threads that day (I could go check - I just hid them all) and MIM happend to post the lock message from one of those threads.

Honestly, I could be the pot calling the kettle black here - I'm sure in my DU lifetime I've started 'clique' style threads myself. But honestly, they can be hurtful to people who feel they don't know what's going on or what the joke. And mind you, there will always be private jokes. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who don't understand what '44-6' means (it's the score of a football game from 2008 with the Eagles vs. the Cowboys where the winner goes to the playoffs. Cowboys choked and lost 44-6). But when 'clique' or a similiar word is defined it just reminds us of those groups in highschool/college where we felt like outsiders when around them.


I think that's why MIM started this thread.

Basically what I was saying to folks who rec'd the thread was that they were IN The Clique™. It was actually an attempt at bringing folks together rather than trying to segregate them (Until, of course, when Tommy started HIS cliqkue, and then the Clique Wars were ON, but then, that again is all in fun)

Bottom line is that I was just trying to have fun, not stir the pot. It saddens me that it was taken otherwise.

I think the Admins in general have been getting alot of shit overall with this stuff, how & why I don't know or understand. Honestly, I've just been hiding the 'clique' threads for awhile. But I've said this before - Skinner and Earlg started a political website and they probably spend more time dealing with all the lounge drama than anything else out there.

I know that MIM has not singling you out personally but just the overall concept about the cliques and well, some people may feel excluded. It's just more lounge drama but you and I both know that MIM is a great guy!

When I first started posting, I thought there were cliques too. And then after posting for a few months, I realized it was just people who had similar interests. And when you and someone have similar interests (or a similar sense of humor), you just naturally start replying to each other a lot. It is what it is. (Whatever that means.)

That's exactly what I thought at first... In fact, I remember telling Orrex at one point that I thought the lounge was cliquish

But that's just the thing - if I think that the thread title sounds outrageous or questionable, I'll open it to see what's going on. Most of the time, I'll find out really quickly that it's somebody goofing off - like PiGuy did yesterday.

I know I've probably done it myself but I'm really trying my best to make sure that everyone feels welcomed. Sometimes it works.
