I can add "upholsterer" to my list of capabilities!
Well, installing automotive upholstery that's already been made, at least. I did have to re-create the springs and wire framework to hold the padding, though.

So without further ado- My Volkswagen Beetle's new passenger seat:


I still need to get a new headrest cover- the black vinyl with the rest of the seat being tweed doesn't look right.

2. And the best part is....
The seat back release now works!!!! No more reaching under the seat to fold the seat forward!

EVERYTHING in the seat back portion was majorly rusted. I was able to salvage the basic framework, but had to completely rebuild the wire springs and buy/install new cables for the seat back release.

6. Thanks!
There's still some tweaking to do with it, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Will be a LOT more comfortable than the black vinyl it came with.

5. I bought a video that showed the process, and got some helpful hints...
Had I not done that.... It could have been VERY bad!
