Does this sound like one of the worst bands ever?
Cannibal Corpse. Here's part of a review from allmusic.com:

"If vomit were a movie, this would be the soundtrack," wrote one critic of Cannibal Corpse's music, some of the most extreme, violent death metal sounds and subject matter ever committed to tape. Reveling in splatter-horror imagery in their often indecipherable lyrics, the group's graphic album artwork and song titles like "Meat Hook Sodomy," "Entrails Ripped from a Virgin's Cunt," "Fucked with a Knife," and so on, have -- not surprisingly -- attracted a fair amount of controversy and sometimes resulted in their albums being banned.

2. Man, I haven't thought about those guys in 15 years
My metalhead buddies loved them. Never did much for me.

Then again, I'm not into metal.

5. Hmm, I had no idea their lyrics were THAT graphic
they are pretty much pure "cookie monster" growl.

When I was a kid I didn't think anything could be "too metal" for me; then the stuff in 90s happened and showed me how wrong I could be.

6. They're the best selling death metal band of all time.
I always found them to be basically average within the genre, with the exception of their CD Kill from a few years back. I will say that reviews like this make me more interested to hear a band than not hear them. "If vomit were a movie, this would be the soundtrack," makes me want to hear it, just like the review for the band Infidel?/Castro! did years ago. The reviewer said he, "could not, would not, ever put the cd back in my player." My friend bought the CD two days later based on that alone. :)

C.C. is the musical equivalent of an over the top, cartoonish horror movie, and meant to be taken just as seriously. It's also surprising to see how these guys are behind the scenes. Very normal, regular joes. A couple are married and have kids, etc. Then they turn around and play Five Nails Through The Neck. Go figure.

7. Seen them in Lorain, Ohio.
Kerry King from Slayer was at that show. Took a picture with him.

(their vocalist) George Fisher's a cool guy. Butchered at Birth is one of the all time death metal classics.

8. I like 'em.
As far as album artwork goes, they're kind of the Iron Maiden of death metal.

Their fans are pretty special. I hear they're not allowed to play the Gibson Amphitheater anymore so that the fans won't mix with the regular people at City Walk.
