True Blood (no spoilers in OP)
I haven't seen a single post on the Season2 premiere.

Surely there are fans here?

:hi:

1. Oh hell yeah!! That was quite a love scene between Bill and Sookie!
And Jason is going to get himself all messed up with those wackjobs!

4. I love them inserting the Fundies!
Just like real life!!!

I also like the rebellious-fundy vamp. A minor character, but an interesting foil for sub-plots.

I know we're all waiting for Bill to turn Sookie, but that would be like Scully seducing Muldar. If it ever happens, I think it will signal the last season. There's just too many possibilities for conflict in their "unconsummated" relationship. They've certainly fulfilled the "romance" requirement of the southern-gothic genre.

9. Oh I love the show
And, um, shouldn't JASON be the one where Lafayette is right now?

13. Absolutely, but
The plot line seems to require him to get in deeper with the Sun Church.

I think Lafayette will get a reprieve. An obvious plot-development would be to have Lafayette implicate Jason and be released for assisting the investigation, but TB is *not* all that predictable.

I can't imagine they'll 86 that character, Lafayette is too useful, and too fascinating a character. Fine actor.

25. I love the show and the character
Tara is also tops. Arg, I have to get a job so I can afford HBO again.

The actor who plays Jason is swoon. Odd that he is Australian yet has the best southern accent.

2. It was excellent.
I'm really curious as to who Maryann really is.

3. Dig that!
There's a lot of directions they can pick for the character, and it's going to add depth.

6. I know!
not the cash, but we knew that before he offered. Perhaps revenge for rejecting her. Maybe his 'seed', since they definitely had some interruptus of the coitus.

For a shape-shifter, Sam can be less-than-impressive. Fine doggie, but shouldn't he have shifted into a bear or something to defend Sook from Rene?

18. He can only shapeshift into animals he sees
Edited on Fri Jun-19-09 07:46 AM by LynneSin
So unless he keeps a pet bear, he can't shape into one of them. Remember Sam mentioned he kept the collie around for shapeshifting. They showed several scenes last year where Sam was petting the Collie.

19. I might be confused on that point
I thought he could shift into anything he *had* seen. Your explanation makes more sense, since it puts a cap on his abilities. I was thinking that his personality made the shift to dog more palatable. He's a very dog-like character, in his loyalty.

Good excuse for me to watch the reruns of the 1st season again!

22. You do see him and the collie together in a few scenes
And when Sookie first saw him naked, he explained that he kept the collie to make a shape that wouldn't 'frighten' people so to speak.

23. Ah!
I must have glossed over that, but I recall it now.

Damned pot makes the viewing experience fun, but I do miss an important plot-point occasionally because of it.

Thanks for clearing that up.

10. Spoilers --
TB is my trashy pleasure -- I love the show! :D

I liked last night's episode -- it was a good way to get bck into the TB universe.

Maryann an Sam -- did it look like they came to some sort of an conclusion/arrangement? She mentioned he had something of hers and that what made him think it was about him - then the next time you see them is when they are walking out the door -- that indicated to me the conversation had been finished off camera. Wonder what the the deal is going to be.

The whole Maryann/Eggs thing has utter disaster for Tara wirtten all over it. Can't wait to see it played out.

So who is Jason gonna end up banging -- the Rev.'s wife, or the Rev. himself?? Looks like they were both pretty interested in him -- very Ted Haggard.

The whole Sookie and Bill thing tends not to do it for me. I find myself much more interested in many of the supporting characters. I adore Hoyt -- I think a Jessica hook-up is in his future. :D And I love Arlene and Terry.

Eric was hysterical, with his foil and bib -- nothing freakier than a guy in foil ripping a arm (leg?) off and betting someone to death with it while getting his highlites. I think the actor is very handsome -- love his Swedish-tinged English.

11. I would have never thought Eric highlighted his hair
kinda suprised me.

I'm wondering if Lafayette will give up Jason as the one who killed that Vampire. I suspect Vampires use forms of torture that make waterboarding look like a dip in the stream.

14. It took me awhile to get that
I wondered why he was sporting such odd attire!

I love the 'humanity' expressed in Eric's vanity, nice way to add some depth to the character.

I'm not sure if Lafayette 'knows' of Jason's involvement, but it would be an appropriate plot advancement; draws Jason squarely into the action, and would provide an 'escape' for Lafayette.

I especially liked Eric's loss of control with the Redneck Arsonist. The plot could be a setup for Sookie's further involvement with the Vampire Inquisition. If they can't resist tearing their 'suspect' up before they finish questioning, Sookie's talent would be especially useful.

16. Sookie could save Lafayette
If Eric brought Sookie in to confirm that Lafayette didn't have anything to do with that nerd vampire's death. Of course eventually Sookie would discover that her brother did have involvement with the death even though it was his freaky girlfriend that did it.

I think it could also be both.

Lot's of 'social commentary' on evangelical religion possible with that triangle.

I say he hits on the wife but the husband makes a pass at Jason too! Jason has such a great looking ass!

Unfortunately, I think he also might be short. I believe the actor is Australian.

20. Bill + Sookie
Yes, the heavy romanticism is trite, but that's the nature of the genre. I thought maybe it was my 'male impatience' with romance that made it slightly unsatisfying, & I'm glad to have a female ratification.

Do you see a Terry/Arlene hookup in future episodes? Both characters are so endearingly flawed that it could be very interesting.
