Anyone have a relative that looked like Freeper material but...

but turned out he/she was not on the dark side at all.

I have a relative that lives out of town. When he lived at home with his parents back in the 60s and 70s his dad was a straight ticket conservative (long, long before Rush and Newt redefined conservative). Naturally I assumed like father like son. I'm sure he was at one point so my suspicions were well founded.

It turns out that through a recent conversation he was talking about being recently retired he said something like "I hope Bu$h didn't screw up medicare as bad as I think he did." When told that the thought was he might have been a Republican he said, "NOOOOOOO!! No way, especially with that idiot in the White House."

Needless to say that made my day when I heard that. :bounce:

I found out about it inadvertently, as he was conversing with me and another one of his collegues. He's a registered repub who is actually as frustrated with Bush as I am! Very cool. :)

I would have sworn he was Republican he said Gramma I HATE BUSH
