A Question for People who buy DVD Videos.
Edited on Fri Jun-26-09 08:09 PM by BlueJazz
I was looking (online) for "Gran Torino" at Best Buy and Kmart.
I noticed that the Wide-Screen version is less expensive than the Full Screen version.

I don't get it...I would think the opposite would be true..(as the Wide Screen is what you see in the theaters).

anybody know why ?? :)

2. Isn't wide screen what you see in theaters?
I thought full-screen was post processed to fill the entire TV screen (and to produce a lesser product IMO)...

3. My dear BlueJazz!
I have no idea why that would be the case. My thought was the same as yours: that the wide-screen would be more expensive...

We ALWAYS get the wide-screen!

:hi:

That is a great movie, BTW...we'll be buying it too.

6. I never have understood why someone would want ...
..to actually see LESS of a Movie than the way it was made...Strange.

8. People with really small TVs have a harder time with wide screen than
people with average or large TVs. I have a big TV so I prefer wide screen.

10. I see buying them the way I do buying a book.
I might not watch it again, but then again, I might.

And I could loan it to someone, too...

11. probably a popularity thing
maybe since most people buy widescreen, they manufacture more of them, so the price is lower?
