Mine is a 2001 Honda CRV SE ~~ and I absolutely love her!

5. Oh, I love those!
My Honda is real low milage but it is almost 9 years old ~~ so I was thinking of getting a Vue. I think they are sooooooo great looking!

:hi:

However, I changed my mind ... don't want to spend the money!

They made me an offer I couldn't refuse -- 0% financing.
My old car (also a Saturn) was getting pretty worn out, so I decided to get a new one. And I decided I couldn't go wrong with GMAC paying the interest instead of me.

And I love the car!

19. Great color AND loan!
I might refi with my local credit union in a couple of months... my current loan will be a net cost of $3k over 5 years, which isn't bad, but I know I can do better, and even then after the net cost with the loan, I paid thousands less than the sticker price. One heck of a deal...

26. GM, of course, has been pretty desperate. Saturn had this offer going earlier this spring
and I pounced on it (the Inver Grove Heights dealership is really a nice outfit, BTW). They had a bunch of incentives, not just the 0%. For example, you get a discount if you belong to a credit union (which I do), even if you don't finance the car through it. Fortunately, even though Saturn is being sold, GM will keep honoring the warranty. You should do well with your Ford, too. Those are nice cars.

32. Thanks!!
I wish I'd gotten the 0%, but oh well. They know I go through a CU as well. I will be contacting the CU to see what offers they have for refinancing too... saving every penny helps...

Ford is definitely a good brand, and I have a coworker who positively adores Saturn... I've a soft spot for them too, and yours is fab... (i posted mine below, luckily the pic I found is the same color and model)

...it was between that and the Saturn VUE when I was car shopping. But like I said above: Decided that the Honda was in such perfect shape and was low milage, that I would just keep it for a bit longer.

That is such a great looking car!

I say that because I had to drive a company car to detroit for a conference and it was a ford crown victory. I was amazed as how it drove like my ranger. The ranger's seats were more comfortable.

I've been thinking of getting another one and trading in my vw cabrio - I miss having the truck bed to be able to haul things.

44. That's cool!
I started looking for a new car because my old and decrepit van wouldn't stay on the roads when the weather was bad. I only live 2.5 miles from work and it was starting to scare me driving there in the winter. I wanted something with 4-wheel drive. I also wanted something large enough (since I can only afford to have ONE car) that I could haul a lot with. I ended up with an Element mainly because of the dog. lol

I drove a Vue and I LOVED that car. Loved the XTerra too - until I looked up the MPG on those suckers. wow. I really like the CRVs - My mom has a 2003.

57. I am pondering over and over what small SUV to go with when my Honda...
...gives up the ghost. Probably will not be for a few more years, tho.

I really like the ones before the newest body style. I really like my SE because when you open the rear cargo space and pull up the floor mat, there is a table and an ice chest. I was told that CRV stands for "compact recreational vehicle." There is a flood light and a place to plug it in, too.

Great car. Matter of fact: Any Honda IMO is a great car! :hi:

45. I do like it a lot.
I did lots of comparing, and for less than $20k, no one else had the standard AWD, traction control, 9 bajillion air bags, etc. In fact, I was taking a turn over some road construction solid metal plate on a day there was ice. The traction control works. :D

In retrospect, the better deal would be to get the model one up from mine. It's got last year's WRX engine and a few more bells and whistles. But, this is a car that I could just buy outright with some savings and some of the proceeds from selling some property. I *will* get a nice set of 17s for it and put winter tires on the old rims/hub caps.

The sedan is longer, but the wagon is more spacious.

If Mazda made an AWD version of your car, I'd have bought it I think. That is a fun car, even in base trim.

but you lose the hatch, and it's definitely more of a "luxury" mid-level sedan and the price reflects it.

Plus, it's not quite as quick. :7

I think you made a good, solid choice there.

But if I start looking into spending that kind of money, I would have to look at Audi. And BMW.

By the way, if I had to buy an Audi A4 or BMW 330xi right now, I'd buy the Bimmer. The Top Gear guys are right. Seems as though a lot of Audis are being bought by people who think they're being different by not buying a BMW...

64. I think I'd take the Speed6 over either at that price point.
For $28k, you're not even barely into entry level BMW sedan range like the 328i (which performs like a cow, has no AWD, etc). As for Audi, I like the A3 (the hatch) and love the S3 (which they don't sell here) but I agree with the Top Gear assessment on the A4/6/8.

61. Thats a shame.
I'm not a fan of the Scion really. And Solara is much too big in my opinion. I'll have my Celica for awhile but I believe that I will be looking at Mazda for my next car. They seem to have some real nice sports cars.

65. I rented a Solara when it first came out.
What a great car. It really is just a 2 door Camry with an odd looking butt, though.

I think you should get a Mazda like mine. Then when BB visits you, you can scare the shit outta her.

62. Sweet, oh, so sweet! OMFG....
...is that a 64 or a 65? I cannot see the front grill so I cannot tell for sure.

When I was in HS in the 60s, my dad had a white 65 El C with that aqua blue interior. Talk about a cool ride ~~ and it still is!

Yeah, I love car threads...I am nutso over cars.

I am probably the only person you know who had a 74 Bricklin with a 351. That car rocked!

:hi:

85. '65
Here's how you tell from the back: The '64's back-up lights were part of the tail lights. Starting in '65, they put 'em in the bumper.

I've had it since 1981. It's got a crate 350 and a Powerglide. The only non-stock parts are a Holley 600, Thorley headers and MSD ignition.

The original 283 went 279,523 miles before it got tired. The 'Glide's still the one that came from the factory in Fremont, Calif.

I don't think I've ever seen a Bricklin; had to look it up. If I have seen one, I probably thought it was a Delorean. :hide:

87. A BRICKLIN????
How exotic!

I think I saw THREE in Houston and San Antonio in the mid-70s.

They were either a weird peachy pale orange, or white. Gullwing doors??

GO HONDA! They are awesome cars. It was my 21st birthday present. So it was free for me. I do not want a car payment, so I have been hanging on to this car. But now that Ms. Bella Rose is here, I do need a more reliable and spacious car. We definitely need more space. I have confidence that the Honda has a few more years in her, but I need more space!!!!!!! And we will be purchasing another Honda. Probably the CRV.

83. If everything goes ok..I will have this on Wednesday

I smashed my last one up. Insurance is paying off nicely, just timed out badly. But if all goes well, I should be driving this into work Wednesday night. If not one like it, just a different colour.

I'm moving up a year and getting the 4X4 action. Other then that, same as my last one.

89. Mazda
1994 Mazda 626. Looks just like this one, but I don't have a sun roof.

I took all my bumper stickers off my First Amendment-Mobile. Now I only have a darwin fish on the back for editorial comment.

Still runs, has 113K on it, known as "Greenie Weenie" or "Greenus Weenus". :D :hi:

Before that I had an '83 RX-7, charcoal gray, whose tranny died at 75K, so I traded it in. Mazdas have a big problem with trannys -- my 626 is on its third one.

90. 1999 GMC Surban 2500 for the farm
Husband's is a 2002 GMC Envoy that we bought last fall when his Ford Exploder gave up the ghost. Fancy ass vehicle that, but it makes a good backup to the big truck.

By the way, the big truck leaves the farm two or three times a month, if that. It has not even been started since June 5 since I am still not allowed to drive while recuperating.

mine is charcoal gray.

no snickering. it's a good little car so far and i've had it for 4 years. the only thing i had to have done on it other than usual maintenance was repairs to the drivers side door after being sideswiped by an idiot teenager. 4 years is a record for me. i've never been able to afford a new car and this is the longest i've ever gone with a used car without having some kind of major breakdown.

94. 2003 white Honda Odyssey. I LOVE THIS CAR!
We only have one car, and decided to get one that was comfortable for my tall husband, and that had enough room to move our 7 cats at the same time :)

Love this car! Probably would have gotten silver if it was an option, but regardless, the Odyssey is really a wonderful auto:
