but he was often derided for his "turn the other cheek" approach to defense.

My favorite Jesus basketball story was when he was coaching in the CBA and a writer asked him if "there are enough balls for all the stars on your team", Jesus just smiled, in that knowing way of his, and suddenly the arena was full of Wilsons.

His humor is underestimated.
