4. Fiat is a very different car maker these days.
They still suffer the same stigma of how they used to build them (as do other marques from Jaguar to Chevy). Fiat builds some very good cars these days, and brands have become better by leaps and bounds since joining the Fiat family (Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo). I think they finally realized that going through corporate life with a reputation of "fantastic car when it's not on fire" isn't good for business. Ford did the same with Jaguar when they decided that if they're going to compete with the likes of BMW and Mercedes, the electrics should work.
