Who's using Firefox 3.5?
Looks and feels exactly the same as 3.0.x so far. This Private Browsing feature is nice, though.

2. Me, since today ...
I was wondering why a web feature didn't work in it, because I knew it should work. Then I checked out my version, and I was way behind. It's not so obvious, but it has great funcionalitis while still looking the same, though.

4. I am now - thanks!
Mozilla is the ONLY source of software where it is completely safe to apply every update (not talking about beta, of course). Micro$oft is exactly the opposite.

5. OT: I STILL crack up every time I see that comic in your sig line...
Thanks for cheering me up, CPD.

BTW, just upgraded to Firefox 3.5 for Mac last night, so too soon to give a review. But it launched at least! Woohoo!

13. In a nutshell ...

Private browsing disables all the little things browsers do that save your browsing history, leaving traces of it on your machine.

It's useful, for example, if you are in a library and are browsing the Internet with Firefox and do not want the next person who comes along to know what you were doing just by checking the history. It saves you from having to remember to go in and delete all that afterward.

14. Thank you -
It won't affect me - everything is private - but I wondered.

Thanks, and did I tell you that your screen name was a character in a dream I had a few weeks ago?

The major improvement with performance involve the javascript engine. Busy pages with lots of javascript show measurable improvement.

Some of the new additions are apparent because the elements of HTML 5 aren't in wide use. There's now an open standard media format in it, which is very cool and is going to piss off Adobe and MS. Dynamic content injection is always impressive.

Over in the computer forum, charlie gave a run-down of things as he was trying it out. It's available here:

16. It takes forever to load...............
something on the order of 30 secs or so. I don't have but a few add-ons (AdBlock, ForecastFox and IE Tab) and my bookmarks are not out of hand, so I'm at a loss as to why it opens so slowly. I cruised the Mozilla community page and many folks are having this issue.
