I'm having a personal 'WTF' moment (don't worry, it's good)

I really should stop posting about my band's going-on's around here especially after I WAS FUCKING STALKED but no bother, this is pretty cool and I'll keep it anonymous.

As some of you know, I rock faces in a band. A band with no leadsinger. We've decided to start recording and just cut the vocal tunes until we get a singer. Ok fine. But some of those songs I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to record and I don't want to wait. So. I rolled the dice and I called a local legend who's in another band and asked if she or he (anonymous here) would like to sing this song with us. They agreed!!!!

I'm in fucking shock. I've been listening to this band since I was 16. They may not be huge but they mean a great deal to me. I can't fucking believe it.

however that's spooky to be stalked, even though I don't fully understand how one gets "stalked' on DU, although someone else I've exchanged a few PM's with told me that had happened to her too ( although she also didn't explain what she meant). Also glad to hear chicks dig trombone players; maybe I should switch from sax ( and flute and harmonica). But also could be that I'm old and you're not. As shy as I am, I somehow did pretty well when I was younger. Enjoy it while its happenin'......Too bad also that the weirdness you experienced make it necessary to protect the singer's identity; I'd love to know who it is...But congratulations on this development; that's got to be every bit as exciting as it sounds like it is.

I'd be open to considering relocating. I don't know if you guys would want a crusty old guy either... BTW ,I also sing pretty well, but have never really done ska ( that's what you do, right?) but have done lots of soul/r&b and some reggae, so not too far away musically...

About that regular well paid gigs thing... That's not ever going to happen in DC. Ever. We do however play more Reggae than Ska. It's just not one drop. We dig a little earlier.

music scene here is nothing spectacular either. I know a small handful of people making a living at it, but most of us, like me, have to have at the very least, a part time day job.
