My kitten likes to eat steel wool
:eyes:

There's a hole in my kitchen floor where an old water heater used to be. When they took it out, they took a piece of the floor with it. Money is tight and I have to wait to get the floor repaired. While I'm waiting, I've got the hole plugged up with steel wool and topped over with an old piece of corian, except this one little place in the corner between the wall and the sink cabinet.

My cat has become obssessed with pulling the steel wool out of this little corner and playing with it.. and chewing it. Yeech.

I've repeatedly told her "NO!" and carried her to other rooms.

So I got the bright idea to line that part of the wall with bricks so she can't get at it.

She's mad at me now. :D

1. Gray, small roundish object
I wonder if it appeals to her mousing instinct.

3. Possible
Hopefully, it's out of sight (and out of mind) now. I don't want her eating gypsum and steel wool. :puke:

6. She looks like she's developing OCD
about it!

That's why I had to brick over it.

5. I'll bet her teeth are nice and clean. I think cats sometimes chew on things
because they like the texture. I had a aloe plant once that the old cat I had at the time loved to bite. She would just puncture the "leaves" with her teeth, but she never ate them. I thought she just liked the popping sensation it made.

14. MIne does that too, with the bags.
From the inside. On the semi-clear ones you can glimpse pink kitteh-tongue when she's really workin' it.

Here she is spazzing out on a bag. She has issues.

10. You have unknowingly shut down the long-planned "Great Kitteh Rebellion" without even knowing it.
Your cat was charged with pooping out bullets to be used on all us hughmans who have LOL'd at teh kittehs for so very long. Thanks to you, we are saved!

11. Man years ago, our family cat ate the tinsel off our christmas tree.
At the time, it was made of lead.

Neither steel nor lead is highly recommended food for cats.

13. Years ago, around the holiday season, we adopted a stray cat
who we named "Tinsel-ass", later shortened to "Tinsel", because of a similar predilection.

15. I know now you're not supposed to do this, but
one of the most cherished memories of my childhood is watching my mom, with big yellow dishwashing gloves on, ever-so-slowly-and-carefully pulling dental floss out of the dog's butt.

16. I once had a cat who liked to chew on a metal waste basket.
*clank* *clank* *clank*

Never could figure out why he enjoyed doing that.
