How long have you had your current wallet?
My grandpa told me one day that guys held on to their wallets for a long time. I got my first one in 7th grade and still use it today (that is about 7 years).

1. I got mine in September or October 2002.
there is a long boring but sentimental-to-me story there but its too hot to write that much and like I said - boring.

I can't remember precisely when I got it, but I remember that my mother-in-law bought it for me one Christmas.

4. 26 years
Still holding up fine, though the original wording on it has faded to the point where you can't really see what it once said.

I'll use it intil it falls apart or I die, and it's a toss-up which will happen first..

I'd still have it if it wasn't for a laundry accident.

6. I haven't carried a wallet since the late 70's.
I got out of the habit while overseas with the USN because of pickpockets. Later, I decided that I didn't like sitting on the lump. Two credit cards, a debit card, and my drivers licence fit nicely in my check book. When I leave home I carry the check book to the vehicle and put it in the glove box. When I come home I reverse the process. When I go to the store in the winter I put it in the breast pocket of my coat, during the summer I put it in my hip pocket.

About the time I quit carrying a wallet I also quit wearing jewelry and a few years later quit wearing a watch. I also found that I very seldom needed most of the keys that I carried, so now I just carry the commonly used ones on my person and have another ring that hangs in a cabinet for the rest.

8. 31 years. It's a buxton. Very soft leather.
Nothing I find in stores compares to it. It has a self repairing zipper too.

I will probably have it forever.

It's a surfer wallet, though. It'll fall apart probably in another year or two.

12. It's been 16 years for me and it's getting pretty ragged now,
but everything I've done for the last 16 years and every where I went I have had this wallet. It's like part of me now.

15. About twenty years
Eagle Creek doesn't even make it anymore. It's made from a heavy duty ballistic nylon and is a bifold as opposed to a trifold -- why make your wallet fifty percent thicker than it needs to be? The currency compartment is open on one end which makes it easy to get at bills (this is the feature they have apparently abandoned). The velcro is worn out but that's no big deal. It's not like it can open itself in my pocket.

17. Lodi wallet
I searched the intertubes for the perfect zip-around wallet moons and moons ago. I found it in a Lodi wallet. I think I spent $60 or so on it--which galled my inner cheapskate at the time.

Ten years later, I can say it is one of my best purchases ever. It still looks new. I fully expect it will last longer than I do.

18. The one I use every day is a cheap black woven nylon wallet
I have had for at least 4 or 5 years. I have a brown leather wallet I used for probably 5 years before this one in my drawer with my old wallet stuff in it, and I have a Mexican hand tooled large billfold type wallet I bought at a yard sale about 10 years ago that I use to keep money in at home....when I have money.

I tend to keep them till they fall apart, then use them to keep shit like my old licenses, etc that I have no use for at all. I have no idea why I do this.

I think I will stay with the nylon wallets from now on - they seem to last longer and I really don't care about how they look.

Thank God.

It's an ABAS full frame clutch.

23. Altoids tin.
Right now I'm using an Altoids tin as a wallet. How lame is that?

I usually have three Altoids tins in my purse.
The blue/green tin is my wallet. (get it? green=money=wallet. I'm a dork.)
The red Altoid tin covered with Hello Kitty stickers is where I store my earbuds.
The red Altoid tin with no stickers is actually just Altoids.

I used to go through wallets like water. I could never find one that was just right. One day I stuck my money in the tin because I was going out and didn't want to carry a purse. I never took my money out and a wallet was born.

25. 10 year old leather wallet I got in Argentina. Tough and durable.
All my wallets before this one are shabby piece of shit that would tear in less than a year (admittedly, I'm awfully rough on my wallets). But this one is tough, old leather. I didn't like it at first because it was too stiff and didn't bend well. But now it's soft and pliable and the perfect size. I will have it for the rest of my life if I can.

26. I don't use a wallet.
Have a pocket in my purse where I keep all the things that would normally go in a wallet. Sometimes, I just grab my driver's license and debit card to go to the store.
