Maker of Salted Nut Rolls revels in 100th birthday

Yummmmmmmm, I love Salted Nut Roll candy bar......

ST. PAUL, Minn. - It's been a sweet century for one Minnesota candy maker.

Pearson's Candy Co. is celebrating its 100th anniversary of churning out confections in St. Paul.

The company's signature product is the Salted Nut Roll. Pearson's puts out 50 million of them a year. It also sells millions of Mint Patties, Nut Goodies and Bun Bars.

P. Edward Pearson and his two brothers founded the company in 1909.

The company has been in its current building near the Mississippi River for the last 50 years after spending the first 50 just up the road.

City officials gathered Friday to help mark the centennial.
