I thought it was a good adaptation of the graphic novel. It covers most of what's necessary without leaving out anything important. It's very long, but a good kind of long.
The characters were all very well done. Rorschach, my personal favorite, was done perfectly. Where did they find this guy? He even LOOKS like him. :)

They did have to change one major plot point, and those who have read the graphic novel will know exactly what I'm talking about.
I think the change works, personally.
Anyway, I liked it a lot...it is at times gruesome, unflinchingly violent, and even brutal. It's not an easy movie to watch. I don't know that I'd make it part of my regular viewing.
But it was well done.

I liked it.
What do you guys think? Was it done well? Does it hold up compared to the graphic novel? Did you wish Dr. Manhattan would've worn pants every now and then? :P

1. I didn't fall asleep!
That means a lot for me and "action" superhero movies!

2. Despite its length, I felt it was paced well.
For nearly three hours, it felt like it went quickly.

3. I thought it was a very faithful and honest adaptation - probably the best ever in terms of accuracy
even given the big final plot point that got rewritten, which doesn't really matter, because the effect is the same. The outcome of the story wasn't changed.

I was really, really impressed with it.

And yes, Rorschach was perfect. so were all of the characters, really.

Just really well done in every sense of the word, and beyond the critique of it as an adaptation, it's a beautifully and artfully constructed movie.
