How often do you wash your jeans?
I was coming home late tonight, from my second job teaching at a local college. The debate on the radio was how often often you washed your jeans after wearing them. Most were saying that they would not wash their jeans until visible dirt appeared or a smell occurred. WTF? Maybe I am weird, but I wash my jeans after wearing them once! Is that weird?

1. If I owned any jeans, I'd let you know
But since I don't, that will have to remain one of the world's unsolved mysteries.........

2. Every week
Which amounts to every time I wear them. I am kind of a neat freak.

I have the "luxury" of no washer/dryer and a dry cleaners in my apartment building that does wash/fold laundry for cheap. I never want to do another load in my life. For 10 bucks a week, it is well worth it.

8. It depends on which jeans...
I have two pairs of jeans that are really old and comfy, and I only wear them around the house and to walk the dogs. Those may get washed every two or three wears. Good jeans get washed after every use.

9. Weekly, unless I do some yard work or work on the cars
If they get dirty or greasy I'll toss them in the laundry. I can't wear jeans at work so I only have them on for a few hours in the evening.

10. depends on what is going on
perfect question as I am off to go check a waterline

sometimes we are very short on liquid cleaning substance and clothes washing takes a back seat to animal thirst and human body washing (which also can take a back seat to animal thirst)

I wear each pair twice.

I wash them all together once a week.

17. When I wear them usually
I mostly wear them to the barn so they get grubby fast. But if I'm just wearing them to go out for a couple of hours, I generally wear them 2 or 3 times before I wash them.

18. After about 3 or 4 wearings, unless they get dirty.
They really do wear out faster if you wash them more frequently.

19. If they aren't dirty, why wash them?
I don't wash them unless I spill something on them. They don't smell, because I'm clean and always wear clean underwear. I've heard that excessive washing makes clothing wear out faster.

21. Depends on how many days I wear them and what I'm doing in them.
If I don't spill anything on them or get dirty/sweaty I'd go for a five-day wear before a wash.

24. During cool weather, every three days of wear. Different during the summer.
If a hot summer day makes me sweat around the waist, the jeans get thrown in the hamper immediately. However, if I'm wearing them inside in A/C all day, I'll wear them another day or two under the same conditions.

27. Denim kind of gets faded and frayed with too many washings,
Edited on Sat Aug-01-09 06:45 PM by vixengrl
so I don't like to wash mine too aften. Also, for the sake of fit--I'm what we might call "thick" and I am not comfortable in jeans just after they are washed. I have to break them in again after a washing, which means if I've worn them once, I really don't want to wash them, just in case I need to put together a "going-somewhere" outfit that doesn't give me a good cse of pink-belly. So I'll stick them back in the drawer (after about three wearings, they get saggy and are ready to clean again.)
