Today is the antipodal Groundhog Day

Calendar speaking we're half way from the solstice to the equinox, one of four cross quarter days of the year.

And so the wheel turns...



And also my birthday. A very special birthday. Two and a half score years ago... half way to five score and a quarter way to ten score! (200 year life spans are going to happen soon, why not me?)

Of course, this means that I was conceived on Samhain more commonly known as Halloween.. So that makes my conception particularly wicked. Conceived on All Hallows Eve... Perhaps while my much older siblings (8 years plus) were out trick-or-treating... Maybe a Reese's Pieces induced fit of passion...

(I don't really subscribe to any of that astrological stuff but the Pagan Wheel serves as a chronological accounting of our annual six hundred mile journey around our star. It's not perfect of course as it doesn't allow for the fact that our orbit is elliptical and not circular and therefore our summers are a few days longer than our winters (February only 28 days!) is proof that Cthulhu loves us...)
