Click and Draggable Video, Amazing!
http://www.woosk.com/2009/07/click-and-draggable-video-amazing.html

“By using a Google Streetview-like camera, a system with six lenses, not as a photo but as a video camera, an all-encompassing picture is captured. <…>
From the point where the images were recorded, the viewer can look in any direction, let his eyes wander through the crowd, or stare at the ground or the air, which makes viewing a video an experience without boundaries.” – Yellow Bird press release

1. Awesome stuff, and I think this may develop into
something spectacular very quickly. Love it.

4. I can see many uses for this, and it may be the thing that
turns the PC into a real entertainment device. Since it's only usable by an individual, who can manipulate the video at will, it is pretty much restricted to the computer or video console or some other single-user device.

Imagine a Grand Canyon flythrough with this technology. Or any thing like that. Or, a football game with the camera the head of an official or player. Uff da!

This is what virtual reality stuff was designed for, but never achieved. Put on your headset and let attitude sensors control the display as you physically move your eyes or head.

Love it!

5. Yes! Think of how the video technology would work
combined with something like the motion-sensing Wii hack this guy demonstrates: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/johnny_lee_demos_wii_remote_hacks.html

8. Interesting idea. I loved the Disneyland Circle-Vision theater I went to in 1982
I walked into a large circular room. People stand in the center of it, in rows. Nine cameras on a vehicle have captured a 360˚ view of a place as the vehicle moves along, and these images are projected, synchronized with each other, onto the screen/walls surrounding us. We are in the midst of green hills of Mongolia; men on horses ride by us, a family works on stuff in and out of their yurt. I turn all around and see every view into the distance I would see if I were there in Mongolia.
