yesterday was a bit nightmarish, but we're all moved and settling in

uhaul screwed us over big time which, long story short, ended in us having to drive 50 miles to get a truck and putting us about five hours behind schedule.

but, thanks to all our wonderful friends, we were able to get everything done by about 9 last night.

i'm tired, sore and not at all interested in unpacking, but it was all worth it. it's so wonderful that we have a place of our own now, to not have to worry about roommates, their pets or their mess. even my kitties, who handled the move surprisingly well, seem happier with the new living situation.

now let's hope we can stay here for more than one year.

but i need to be able to move around in my kitchen and perhaps make dinner. but, more likely, dinner will be delivered

I had friends who reserved a big truck for their move.

6. i was in a panic for a bit there

july 31 is probably the busiest moving day of the year here in town and i was freaked out that we wouldn't get a truck.

needless to say, i'm never renting from uhaul again.

Too bad the 25 year old fridge that came with the house didn't last more than 4 days. Cha-ching! A little economic stimulus for the local appliance store...
